Yes You Can
Highlands LLEN were thrilled to bring the Yes You Can Webinar Series to secondary school students and staff across the Central Highlands and Grampians regions. Over the past two weeks, we have hosted four live webinars which have featured a range of local young people who have spoken about their pathways into their current industries.
These industries have included: hospitality, retail, community services, health, engineering, real estate and photography among others. We have been very pleased with the engaging and useful discussions provided by our panellists and can't thank them enough for helping us show other young people the variety of pathways available into employment.

On Track Connect
Highlands LLEN were proud to conduct the On Track Connect Project for the 2019 cohort of secondary school leavers. As with previous years, students who have indicated that they would like further help with their pathways into further education, training or employment are contacted by staff at HLLEN who offer support and guidance on their post-school needs through referrals to relevant organisations. This year 34 young people were referred to Highlands LLEN.
This year’s project was significantly impacted by the current pandemic with On Track Connect referrals expressing a significant amount of anxiety about their future and ability to find meaningful employment and/or engage with Higher Education. Due to this increase in anxiety about future pathways and prospects, Highlands LLEN staff have provided a higher level of support including referrals to other organisations such as headspace to ensure that the young people in this cohort have access to the tools that will assist them to move forward in their professional and educational journey.
