Amputation-related Bills Introduced in Congress  


Two bills were introduced in Congress this month that address issues related to amputations. One bill requires study of the coverage for services related to the amputation of a limb and the other would allow Medicare or Medicaid beneficiaries who are at risk for PAD to use the program to pay for screening tests without cost-sharing requirements. MORE

Remote Temperature Checks Reduce Diabetic Foot Complications   


Kaiser Permanente and Podimetrics, a virtual care management company, announced results of a study of patients at high risk of developing foot complications from diabetes. The study saw major amputations completely eliminated and all-cause hospital admissions to drop by 52 percent after daily foot temperature monitoring. MORE
