NEWS FROM THE PROJECT

FOSTEX organized its Capacity Building activities against all odds

From August 31st to September 11th 2020, the training of the FOSTEX Capacity Building activities took place on-line due to the current limitations to travel and responding to the worldwide COVID-19 situation. During the two weeks, a total of 12 trainers from 5 different EU institutions (AEI TÈXTILS, CIAPE, INCTDP, UNIWA and UPC) joined to the virtual platform for sharing their expertise with over 16 trainees from 5 different Jordanian and Moroccan institutions (ACI, BAU, ESITH, JUST and UH2C). The involved parts described the online event as a very good experience, considering the difficult situation, highlighting that the trainees had no problems to connect to the platform and were very participative. 4th transnational consortium meeting during COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has overwhelmed habits and plans, having a deep impact on the social activities of FOSTEX’s international collaboration. All consortium partners were meant to gather on March 11th 2020 in Jordan for the 4th transnational project meeting, but the outbreak of COVID-19 in the European south blocked most of the partners in their homes forcing to assist the meet-up online. Nevertheless, the virus respected the different geographical areas understanding the importance of physical interaction and allowed the Moroccan team to travel to al-Salt, providing the opportunity for an in depth exchange among the experts. The meeting was very helpful to understand venue, set-up and machinery necessary to implement FOSTEX’s advanced textile centres.

NEWS FROM THE PARTNERS

Quality committee: external members selected

As indicated in the project proposal, the FOSTEX consortium set up an External Quality and Evaluation Committee – short EQEC – to monitor and evaluate the project’s implementation, to ensure a neutral review and a consistency assessment of the project deliverables versus the project target groups’ needs and expectations. The members of the EQEC collaborate with consortium partner CRE.THI.DEV using independent tools (e.g. questionnaires, personal interviews) to assess the implementation of the project and its deliverables. The EQEC consists of three members, established one in the EU, one in Jordan and one in Morocco, and are selected following a public procedure made available on the project website.
