Some Updates

Last month we prayed for the team's auditor Miyai because he was to have heart surgery on October 1st, but his surgery ended up being postponed to the end of October. We are continuing to pray for his healing and recovery. He has told the team that he's feeling positive, and not too worried since it is a laparoscopic procedure.

We are also continuing to pray for team member Yagi's back pain. She says that there is still pain when she moves but she's feeling better than last month. Thank you for remembering her!

Let us praise Jesus for He is the Great Physician, and all things are under His perfect timing.

November 1st (Isaiah 40:8)
Praise! At the recent board meeting approval was given to start new translation work on Joshua, Romans, as well as 1 and 2 Peter!

November 2nd (Ezra 7:10)
Pray for Hori and Sora’s requests that the translation teams make further progress on Ezra chapters 7-10 and Obadiah.

November 3rd (2 Peter 3:18)
Pray for Pastor Matsumoto’s request that members of Yamagata Deaf Christ Church will clearly understand God’s Word through Bible study.

November 4th (Hebrews 4:12)
Pray for Uiko’s request that the team can create even more awareness of JSL Bible.

November 5th (Obadiah 1:4)
Pray for Kohki’s request of further progress on the translation of Obadiah which is still in the portrayal (rough draft) stages.

November 6th (Ephesians 2:22)
Pray for Mr. Ogata’s request that God protects the internet connections while staff work remotely, and to not get distracted at home but instead focus on working together.

November 7th (Romans 8:28)
Pray for Pastor Kori as she serves on the leadership team and for her congregation in Hiroshima.

November 8th (2 Timothy 2:2)
Pray for Pastor Matsumoto’s request that God would bring to Yamagata Deaf Christ Church more faithful men who can teach others.

November 9th (Isaiah 30:21)
Pray for Kohki’s request that the exegetical teams will use innovative ideas and technology to further translation progress.

November 10th (3 John 1:2)
Pray for Uiko’s request for the health of those who keep praying and supporting the project.

November 11th (Luke 24:44-45)
Pray for Mr. Yamamoto’s request that the team hires a new signer to help translate more Old Testament books.

November 12th (Psalm 73:26)
Pray for Otsubo’s request for the health of the staff members this fall during the coronavirus pandemic.

November 13th (Exodus 25:2)
Pray for Sora’s request that there will be an increase in Japanese prayer and financial supporters.

November 14th (1 John 4:20)
Pray for Pastor Minamida and Tokyo Deaf Church as they worship as well as Fukushima Deaf Church as they worship today.

November 15th (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
Pray for God’s strength on Mr. Yamamoto as he collects a huge amount of data from Genesis and Exodus for the Dictionary app.

November 16th (Ephesians 3:20)
Pray for Uiko’s request that the team can hire talented signers from the Deaf Community to work on new Japanese Sign Language Bible Translations.

November 17th (Proverbs 2:6)
Pray God’s wisdom on Yagi so she has clear communication with her team and does well collecting Genesis data for the Dictionary app.

November 18th (Daniel 7:18)
Pray for Mr. Ogata’s request that more Deaf people enjoy JSL Bible via YouTube and DVD’s, including newly published Daniel and 1, 2, and 3 John.

November 19th (Psalm 13:5)
Pray for Hori as he builds trust with his table tennis teammates. Pray that they will reach more Deaf people and share the gospel.

November 20th (Genesis 26:24)
Pray for Pastor Matsumoto’s request that God continues to bless the Japanese Sign Language Translation team this fiscal year.

November 21st (Acts 17:11)
Pray for Yamagata Deaf Christ Church as they invite a guest speaker today and that members will live by God’s Word.

November 22nd (Psalm 37:5)
Please continue to pray for Hori’s request for those who will soon start on new Japanese Sign Language Bible translations.

November 23rd (1 Chronicles 16:34)
Pray that the JSL Bible Support Team will serve the staff in Tokyo well and God will provide more volunteers to serve on the team.

November 24th (Mark 10:8)
Pray for God’s guidance on Mr. and Mrs. Ogata and their marriage.

November 25th (1 John 4:9)
Pray for Sora as she works on the newsletter for Christmas, that both existing supporters and newcomers to Deaf culture/Sign Language Bible Translation will find the content interesting.

November 26th (Isaiah 40:29)
Pray God protects Yagi’s health and stamina while she focuses on her work.

November 27th (Joshua 1:6)
Pray for Kohki’s request that the translation team will be courageous during this difficult time.

November 28th (Psalm 33:20-21)
Pray for Pastor Sakaguchi as he serves the team, his family, and Deaf Bible Baptist Church in Kagoshima.

November 29th (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Pray for Mr. Y to have wisdom and humility and for his family as he travels and serves many translation projects.

November 30th (Hebrews 11:1)
Pray for the Tokyo office landlady to be blessed and for her husband to accept Jesus.

These prayer requests come directly from the staff in Japan. Thank you for joining your heart with theirs in prayer. We thank God for all of you who support this project and pray so faithfully! This project would not exist without those who give, pray, and serve.

The monthly prayer calendar, a well as the JSLBible.org website, the monthly newsletters, and the Partner Guide brochure are produced by the JSL Bible Support Team, a team of volunteers who support the work of ViBi (the Deaf-led translation project in Japan) by helping produce English-language materials that increase awareness, encourage prayer, and facilitate fundraising and mobilization outside of Japan.
