2019 Princeton Dance Festival Trailer - stay tuned for this year's version!

Welcome HOME: the Princeton Series

Peter & collaborators have been hard at work re-imagining our chuthis. piece Welcome HOME... for dancers at Princeton University!  The work will be performed live on November 23rd as a part of Princeton Dance Festival 2020. Welcome HOME: the Princeton Series would not be possible without the collaborative efforts of Mike Gordon (Live Music; Sound Design/Composition), and Roger Van der Poel (Media), as well as the tireless work of the Princeton University Dance Faculty & Staff! A huge thank you to all involved, especially the dancers: your ingenuity has been essential to this project.

Please visit this website for tickets and more information. We hope you can join us to watch from the comfort of your home!

Purchase College Fall Concert

We are thrilled to announce another new creation happening this fall with The Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College! Peter Chu and chuthis. Company Member Jenni Gordon are working with 25 dancers to create a "movement video" project in collaboration with Media/Animation Artist Michael Cole. It has been wonderfully exciting to create and collaborate with such talented artists. Thank you to Director of Dance Nelly Van-Bommel for inviting us to be a part of this unique semester!

The film will premiere virtually on December 11, 2020. Please stay tuned for further details!

VIEWPOINT: a Virtual Dance Festival Directed & Curated by Peter Chu, hosted by chuthis.

If you haven't yet heard, chuthis. is thrilled to be a part of the inaugural edition of VIEWPOINT, a Virtual Dance Festival, happening December 4-6, 2020. Join us for an educational weekend focused on the process of artistry in a non-competitive environment.

VIEWPOINT is a Virtual Dance Festival curated and directed by Peter Chu, produced by ICoachDance, and hosted by chuthis. Over three days, festival participants will be offered workshop classes, lectures, and interviews with professionals in the field, in addition to two evenings of live-streamed performances. Schools, studios, pre-professional, and professional dance companies are invited to submit work for adjudication and to be considered for a festival performance slot. Sixteen works will be chosen for performance slots throughout the festival, with live adjudication from distinguished guests and performances from professional dance companies. For those of you unable to submit work this year, you are also welcome to join as a festival participant and/or viewer!

Three of our guest adjudicators for the weekend have been announced: Nan Giordano, Sumayah McRae, and Alexandra Wells! We are humbled to have these incredible leaders share their knowledge with VIEWPOINT participants.

For further details (including how to submit) click here. If you want to be a part of the festival, act quickly - the deadline to submit is November 9th!

The Lit Series: Episode 01/03
Featuring Peter Chu & Roger Van der Poel

Peter Chu and chuthis. Company Member/Educator Roger Van der Poel had the incredible opportunity to share their ideas and experiences on communication and transparency within rehearsal processes for an episode of The LIT Series. The LIT Series, a Library of Interdisciplinary Thinking, consists of a series of lectures, interviews, classes and discussions taught by professional artists working in the field today—both virtually and in-person. An amalgamation of dance, literature, design, music, and dramaturgy.

Classes are free and available to the public on @theliteseries IGTV and on The LIT Series Website. Watch Peter & Roger's episode here. We hope you enjoy!

Support chuthis. in 2021

As we continue to manage the COVID-19 crisis, chuthis. is continuing to plan for the final phase of our newest creation in 2021. We have already begun work on Rhythmic Identity in a virtual format; we are now in need of donations to bring us together safely in person next year. As you may already know, the chuthis. Board of Directors has launched a GoFundMe to raise funds for this new work. We know that it is a difficult financial time for many: arts organizations are suffering and/or folding. We too, will be unable to continue without wide-scale community support; yet, we will persevere!

If you are able, please consider a donation to support live dance in 2021. We are so grateful for the support of our community!

UPCOMING: chuthis. Perspectives

We are so excited to be safely educating dancers in person once again. We have 3 upcoming  chuthis. Perspectives weekends! If you're curious to know more information, please contact the studios directly.

November 5-7, 2020: Utah Dance Artists, Draper, UT
November 13-15, 2020: Dance Connection, Scottsdale, AZ

We can't wait to see you all!
