Hi Everyone!
We had a great time handing out pumpkins and then learning all about them in last week's class.  We hope everyone who got the kit enjoyed it!  We've added the activity guide to our youth resources page in case you missed it and would like to do the activities at home with your own pumpkin!

This weekend, remember to change your clocks, as daylight savings time is ending and clocks will shift back one hour.  Because of this and the change in seasons affecting daylight, we will be shifting our LEAF class times to 3:30 starting this Sunday 11/1.

This Sunday, Miss Juan will be teaching our Instagram Live lesson, giving a tour of the hoop house! Join us at 3:30 @commongoodcityfarm.  And don't forget to check out last week's lesson all about squash and pumpkins, with a recipe demo. You can watch it on our Instagram, or here on YouTube.

We'll also be shifting the LEAF Zoom class to 3:30 on Wednesdays.
If you haven't signed up to get the Zoom Link for Wednesday classes you can complete this quick registration form to get the Zoom link and all the details about what we will be learning this week.
And feel free to contact me at 202-430-6138 if you have questions about any of the youth programming!

Community Resources/ Events this Weekend:
I'm passing on information below from Ani with the People of LeDroit/ Kelly Miller about a neighborhood coat drive and distribution AND sharing an outdoor Halloween celebration organized by the Black Student Fund.  Please contact the emails listed if you have any questions about these events.

Last Saturday’s Curbside Coat drive was our largest distribution yet!  We had so much overflow of coats we’ll be doing it again this Saturday. So if you didn’t get to donate your coats, you have another chance. Also, we ran outta back packs before many families had a chance to get one. Looking to get more back packs and supplies.
Lastly, my little ppl will be out with their costumes giving out Halloween goodies. If you have preferences for goodies let me know. This Halloween is different and we can’t do our usual door knocking. It’ll be nice to still provide an experience. Maybe a social distancing costume parade where kiddies can show off their costumes and pick up a bag

Side note: For clarity- There is no independent drop of location... if you are donating anything please make arrangements with me directly for drop off Via email or text.  ThepeopleofLDPKM@gmail.com or (202)833-0758
