Welcome to the ECCI Express – the monthly newsletter to keep members informed, engaged, and connected.
Over the past 12 months, ECCI has successfully petitioned government and industry to create opportunities to promote, sustain and grow Exmouth businesses in what is an extremely challenging year.
We have developed strong Industry partnerships and delivered targeted programs to assist our members in a variety of ways as we navigate 2020. The substantial support from Woodside, Santos, Horizon Power and BHP will allow us to better deliver the Exmouth Business Accelerator, and other incredibly valuable programs.

Our membership has grown substantially to 85 with most businesses benefitting from direct funding of professional business services, attendance at workshops or networking events.

Success! RED Grant Application
As a chamber, we have recognised the need for a modern, purpose-built office space to call our own – an Exmouth Business Centre.
With this our objective, we dedicated much effort to our bid for the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant and on Friday night were thrilled to learn that we were successful!
The proposed refurb and fit-out of the old Shire Office building at 22 Maidstone Crescent, will provide a one-stop-shop for business information, meetings, workshops, and networking events for the benefit of ECCI members and community groups. BHP’s Business Hub and Capacity Builder Program can’t be underestimated and will provide the means to employ an Operations Manager plus will contribute to the fit-out of the building.

Accelerate your Business
The official Launch of the Exmouth Business Accelerator Program was a great success and enjoyed by Exmouth business owners in celebration with the Founding Partners Woodside and Mitsui E & P Australia, community leaders and invited guests.
Thanks to Mantarays for providing a beautiful venue, food, and hospitality. Mesha Mounsey was the excited winner of the fabulous door prize and our poll of businesses on the night indicated Business Planning and Expanding was most pressing, followed by Leadership and Management skills, then Digital Marketing and Social Media know-how. Other valuable proposals included a push to promote ‘buy local’ and to improve environmental sustainability in business. Thanks for your input – we will incorporate this feedback into our future workshop planning.

Join our host Jules Bush on a coach ride to Vlamingh Head Lighthouse for a site inspection and sunset, followed by food and drinks at the Ningaloo Lighthouse Holiday Park. The coach will return to Exmouth at 9.20pm.

Exmouth Business Photo Library
~ Expressions of Interest ~
This program offers Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry members a FREE personalised photoshoot to capture your business in action. Professional photographs are a valuable marketing tool which can be utilised to develop your brand and promote your products and services to clients near and far.
The images will also be added to the Exmouth Business Photo Library for use by the Chamber for marketing and communication purposes, on the ECCI website and social media platforms. Horizon Power has requested we supply them with a selection of photos for their internal and external use as well.
Chamber members, Violetta from Blue Media and Jess from Gallery 6707 have been contracted to undertake the photoshoot.
Register your Expression of Interest by Monday the 8th of November and we will follow up with further details and scheduling options.

ECCI AGM
The ECCI AGM is scheduled for 28 January 2021, taking into consideration how busy members are at present.
Official notices, nomination forms and roles of office bearers will be published in due course.
Put your hand up to be part of the team to lead what is a well resourced and structured organisation as it grows and develops over the next few years. It’s certainly a great time to get involved in your Chamber!

BHP Business Hub & Capacity Builder
$250,000 (2020 – 2022)
This grant is a game-changer for the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc as it ties in with the Exmouth Business Centre and will provide the means to employ professional leadership and project management of the substantial grants within the Chambers responsibility. This grant also includes a contribution to the fit-out of the Exmouth Business Centre. We are so fortunate to have the support of BHP!

Santos Business Improvement Fund
$15,000 (2020)
The Santos Business Improvement Fund has benefited 12 businesses by engaging a professional business service to the value of $1000 including GST as well as the administration of the program.
The Project Officer will seek formal feedback from participants for inclusion in the final acquittal report.

Exmouth Business Accelerator Program
($80,000 for 3 years)
Since the Program commenced earlier in 2020, and through Founding Partners, Woodside and Mitsui E & P Australia’s support, the Chamber has facilitated a range of first-rate workshops open to all Exmouth businesses.
Keenly anticipated and well attended, this training covered such diverse topics as:
Cybersecurity – How to protect your Business, Reviewing your Contracts - Understanding the Essential Elements, and in conjunction with the Shire of Exmouth, a superb Google Analytics and Google Ads Series of workshops, currently underway.
As you read earlier, the Official Launch event was a great success and provided a terrific opportunity to network and socialise. This is an important aspect of the Program.
Woodside Vice President Operations, Mike Price said “Woodside is pleased to partner with the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support local businesses and build their capacity. The Program is an extension of Woodside’s existing support of local organisations through our community grants and partnerships,”
Planning is underway for activities to support our local business community and ECCI looks forward to working with you.
