New Covid-19 restrictions

London is now on High Alert  following an increase in Covid-19 infection levels.

This means people must not meet with anybody from outside their own household or support bubble in any indoor setting.

This includes their own homes or in a public place, such as bars or restaurants.

They may still meet people in outside settings, such as parks and their own gardens, but only if the groups are limited to a maximum of six people.

The new alert level restrictions come on top of those imposed when London was placed on Medium Alert earlier this week, when the Government’s new 3 tier system was launched.

Residents are also being advised to only travel when necessary. They are being told to reduce the number of journeys they make – and if using public transport to avoid the busiest times.

Homes for Haringey has been awarded the prestigious DAHA accreditation!

We are very proud to announce that HfH has been awarded the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation.

The DAHA accreditation is the national benchmark for how housing providers should respond to domestic abuse, recognising that housing providers are in a unique position to identify abuse, prevent it and provide help for people suffering its effects.

This is an amazing achievement and all the more important because the work we have done to reach this point has made a real difference to the lives of our residents and staff, who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.

Domestic Abuse can affect everyone, with 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men experiencing Domestic Abuse in their lifetime.

This is the start of a commitment for us to go over and beyond our duty of care to protect the people in our homes and we hope to make a difference to those who are experiencing domestic abuse to come forward and get support.

If you are experiencing abuse, you can get help.

Have your say on the allocation of new council homes

Housing is a top priority for Haringey Council and work has already started on several sites which will contribute to the council’s ambition to build 1,000 new council homes at council rents by 2022.

As new council housing schemes reach completion, decisions must be made on how these council-rented homes are allocated. A proposal called the Neighbourhood Moves Scheme (the Scheme) sets out who has priority to live in newly built council homes and the criteria they must meet to qualify under the Scheme.

Haringey Council are seeking your views on the Scheme between 28 October 2020 and 10 December 2020.

Full details on the Scheme can be found at haringey.gov.uk/neighbourhood-moves-scheme. You will also find a survey on the site where you can provide feedback on the proposals.

If you require further information or if you need to access the materials or respond in a different format, please contact Haringey Council at neighbourhoodmovesconsultation@haringey.gov.uk or on 020 8489 1211.

Please remember to return your feedback by 10 December 2020.

Services affected by coronavirus

During the coronavirus lockdown period, we changed the way our services were provided to residents and the local community. Despite lockdown restrictions continuing to be stringent within London, we are resuming some of our normal service provision.

Our staff will continue to wear identity badges with their names, photo and Homes for Haringey logo on. Staff who need to enter your home will socially distance wherever possible, and will wear appropriate protective clothing.

More information can be found on our website.
