Life in the Arena: Daniel
Daniel 1

Taken away from his home and family, Daniel was made a captive in the court of the King of Babylon. Together with other boys who were deemed capable, smart and good-looking, Daniel and his friends were told to adopt the customs of their oppressors. They were even expected to take a Babylonian name.

But Daniel refused to do this. Remaining true to who he was and whose he was, Daniel did not conform to the King's request.

We all face opportunities most days to be led astray into thinking and acting in ways that are not true to who we are. Jesus gives us the focused center for our identity as Christians and children of God. How do we keep this focus in the midst of so many influences calling us to be something else?

We look forward to worshiping with you Sunday, under the tent or online, as we celebrate many saints of our church who have helped keep us grounded in our identity as children of God.

God Bless,
Rev. Mary

p.s. Participating in worship online? Please have bread and water ready for our Remembrance of Communion.

All Saints' Sunday

In our worship services this week, we honor the saints of our congregation who have died this past year (prior to October 1, 2020):

Thank you, God, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us, and for the saints who surround us with their witness now. Amen.
