POLITICAL EDUCATION
Miami After Bernie - December 9th @ 7pm
In 2020, the discourse in Miami has stripped the word “socialism” of any real meaning and painted its adherents as the parties responsible for Democratic collapse in the county and the state. With Sen. Bernie Sanders as its avatar, Democratic Socialist positions have been spotlighted like never before — for better and for worse. That spotlight has invited scrutiny, and an opportunity to state the case for creating a more just, equitable society.
Ok, great, but with the 2020 campaign season in the rear-view, what comes next? Join us for a
Miami DSA Political Education Event featuring
Micah Uetricht, deputy editor of Jacobin Magazine and coauthor of “Bigger Thank Bernie,” where we will explore how to harness the momentum created by the Sanders run, beat back the bad faith critiques, and build that better world starting right here in Miami.

CAMPAIGN PROPOSALS
We are looking for members to come together and develop campaign proposals for the new year. Some discussions have centered around the Green New Deal (Transit or Housing), forming coalition with the People's Party, and engaging in Immigration work here in the city.
Interested in helping develop the plan for our chapter work going forward?
Please reach out, and we will connect you with the right members.
_______
MOBILIZING PAPER MEMBERS
We want as much input from as big a portion of our membership as possible in developing and voting on our next campaign. So we are reaching out to inactive and paper members to bring them into our organizing work. If you have capacity to call even just one or two members between now an our next Monthly Member Meeting on Jan 10th,
send an email to Morgan G. He will respond with instructions for how to direct the conversation and a list of members that need to be mobilized. You can also
attend our member phonebank on Dec 15th at 7pm.
_______
SLACK ACCESS
Are you a member of the Miami DSA? Then you should be on our slack channel! We use email and social media to communicate with members and friends, but Slack is where the majority of our chapter communication occurs.
Send us an email if you need access, and we will send you an invite.
_______
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Join us to find out more about the chapter and how to get involved. New members are encouraged to attend at least one orientation, and all members or interested guests are welcome! We host one orientation per month, usually on the second Sunday of the month.
