Dear Alumni and Friends,

It has come to our attention that we inadvertently chose an inappropriate call to action as the title for our last email regarding our fall fundraising efforts. It was not the intent of Friends of UCI Rowing to imply any political bias. We remain solely in existence to encourage student athletes to work hard as teammates and to draw upon the experience of rowing to become outstanding contributors to society so they may join the ranks of our esteemed alumni.

Please accept our apology for any offense. As a group of ragtag volunteers, we realize we have made a mistake here and have already begun discussing ways to implement a better review process for any outgoing communications moving forward. We will do our best to avoid any future missteps. 

We firmly believe in encouraging dialog and civil discourse among our oarsmen and oarswomen and we hope our collective mentorship will show them that no matter what our disparate political opinions may be, we are all pulling together as a team. 

In the spirit of the season, we are also very thankful that we have a group of alumni who are willing to speak up and call us out when things don't sit right with them.
