Congregational Visitation
Schedule for 2021-2022

Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ,

Here is the new Congregational Visitation Schedule.

The first thing you'll notice is that it is a 14-month rather than my usual 12-month calendar. This was decided during the recent Standing Committee Retreat. What is the reason for this? Frankly, while Jason Collins was describing the challenges facing the Search Committee accomplishing their work in a timely manner in order to fit with the ACNA College of Bishop’s schedule, I realized that by extending my projected time as diocesan bishop by two and a half months I could give the Search Committee five plus more months to finish their work. Quite simply, by my staying through mid-March 2022 they could do their work in a timelier manner.

This therein extended my annual visitations into the first of March 2022. It also allowed for the ordination and consecration of the next bishop to coincide with the 2022 Diocesan Convention—yet another plus!

The second thing to notice is that there are several unscheduled Sundays in February-March 2022 for makeup visitations. This has been a challenging season not only for visitations but also for scheduling such because of the differences between our congregations.  Some parishes are meeting for both in-person and virtual worship and others for virtual services only. If your scheduled date below will not work for your parish calendar, you may wish to find a makeup date on the schedule for February-March 2022. If you wish to change your date within the calendar year of 2021, you may choose to switch with another church but please check with either Beth Snyder or me first as sometimes I have scheduled visitations in concert with other events or commitments already on my calendar.

As this will be my last scheduled visitation with each church, I realize afresh what an honor it has been to serve with each of you and your congregation during these past 13 years!

Thus, I remain gratefully yours in Christ,
