Dear supporters of the Ballard P-Patch,
We sure hope you are all doing well as we navigate this challenging year and a holiday season unlike any we've experienced.
As we wind down this eventful year we have SO MUCH to be grateful for, including your support and care for our garden community. The past month has brought us some very welcome news that we can't wait to share with all of you!
- We applied for a grant from the Norcliffe Family Foundation, and we’ve received an award in the amount of $10,000.
- We reached out to a number of local businesses, and are thrilled to receive a $2,000 donation from Ballard Carter Subaru and a $10,000 donation from Town & Country Markets/Ballard Market. We know it's been a difficult year for local businesses, and this support is so meaningful.
- King County Council finalized their 2020/2021 budget last week, and our matching grant from the Conservations Futures Fund ($1.2M) was fully approved. This grant requires a 1:1 match, and our campaign budget has been built around this requirement. The Budget approval was anticipated, but given the budget challenges of the year, not a given. A Big Hooray!
- All of these donations have brought us to within $70,000 of completely repaying our loan and ensuring that the Ballard P-Patch remains a community treasure.
We are participating in the worldwide Giving Tuesday event this year. A generous supporter has offered us a $10,000 match. As you plan your year-end giving, we hope that you will consider a donation to the Ballard P-Patch. The official event date is Tuesday, December 1, and the donation period opens on Tuesday, November 24.. Here is a link to our Giving Tuesday donation form.
