Dear friends,
From soil regeneration and biodiversity protection to social justice and animal liberation: The main issues of our time require a radical change from the ground up—literally.
This Friday, we will joined by one of the leading experts on how to grow a sustainable, compassionate, radically different food system. Iain Tolhurst is a farmer, author, educator, and has been active in the organic movement in the UK for more than four decades. Tolhurst Organic, his stockfree organic farm, has won numerous awards; most recently Iain was awarded "Soil Farmer of the Year". His talk this Friday is titled Growing Green - Stockfree organic agriculture, a future farming system for a planet with compassion.
We will also be joined by Liz Ross, the Founding Director of Rethink Your Food and Co-founder of Vegan Advocacy Initiative, through which she co-created the first-of-a-kind, People of Color: Animal Rights, Advocacy and Food Justice conferences. Liz has an extensive background in food justice, criminal justice reform, and animal rights advocacy–to which she now adds ecological growing as a means to effectuate change. Her talk is titled Agroecology: The Basis of a Socially Just Food System.
