YACWA's 2020 Youth Sector Survey

Once a year, YACWA takes a temperature check on how we're performing and where we can do better.

If you can spare 10 minutes, this is a chance to offer meaningful feedback to YACWA about the work we've done over the last 12+ months - everything from our COVID-19 response and our social media to the handful of physical events we've held and the work of our youth-led networks.

We'll also be have a $50 gift card up for grabs for one lucky respondent.
We're looking forward to hearing from you.

YACWA's State Budget Analysis

On Thursday the 8th of October, the State Government released the 2020/21 Budget outlining its plan for investment over the next few financial years, including the key initiatives that may have a significant effect on the future health and wellbeing of young people in Western Australia.

YACWA's State Budget Analysis Report outlines our verdict on whether the State Government has capitalised on the opportunity COVID-19 has presented to create a better future for young people in Western Australia as well as a reiteration of our key recommendations for COVID-19 recovery.

Register for the Mosaic Photo Project

On Sunday 6 December 2020, our friends at Propel are inviting us to document 24 hours of life in Western Australia.

Every year, hundreds of people across WA simultaneously step behind their cameras to capture and submit an image from their day to Mosaic, a community-driven photography project and exhibition.

We're asking anyone and everyone in WA to set aside a couple of minutes on Sunday 6 December, to capture part of their day on camera. Use your phone, a DSLR, a film camera, a point and shoot, Instagram, a tablet - whatever you have at your disposal!

After registering, and during the lead-up to Capture Day, we'll send you the upload link. You'll have a week after Sunday 6 December to upload your image and have it displayed in a professional exhibition, alongside other contributions from all walks of life in WA.

Registrations close 5 December.

Become a YACWA Member

YACWA has worked tirelessly to support young people, youth workers and the youth sector navigate this strange and challenging time. Now we’re asking you to join us commit to championing the rights of young people in Western Australia by becoming a member.

Over 40 years ago, a small group of agitators, firebrands and troublemakers joined together to form a united front for youth workers in our state. That same activist spirit, fuelled by an undying commitment to the rights of young people, runs through everything we do at the Youth Affairs Council of WA.

As we move into this recovery phase, we’re faced with an extraordinary challenge. Young people are expected to be some of the hardest hit by this upheaval to employment, education and daily life.

By becoming a member, you’ll be supporting our small team of change-makers to fight for every young person in our state.
