Once a year, YACWA takes a temperature check on how we're performing and where we can do better.

On Thursday the 8th of October, the State Government released the 2020/21 Budget outlining its plan for investment over the next few financial years, including the key initiatives that may have a significant effect on the future health and wellbeing of young people in Western Australia.

On Sunday 6 December 2020, our friends at Propel are inviting us to document 24 hours of life in Western Australia.
Every year, hundreds of people across WA simultaneously step behind their cameras to capture and submit an image from their day to Mosaic, a community-driven photography project and exhibition.
We're asking anyone and everyone in WA to set aside a couple of minutes on Sunday 6 December, to capture part of their day on camera. Use your phone, a DSLR, a film camera, a point and shoot, Instagram, a tablet - whatever you have at your disposal!
After registering, and during the lead-up to Capture Day, we'll send you the upload link. You'll have a week after Sunday 6 December to upload your image and have it displayed in a professional exhibition, alongside other contributions from all walks of life in WA.
Our friends at Rainbow Futures WA are committed to the long term viability of WA-based LGBTIQ+ organisations in order to meet the need for LGBTIQ+ services and advocacy well beyond the current (relatively positive) climate.
In that spirit, they're convening this Sunday 22 November at the Wembley Community Centre for an information session that history of LGBTQAI+ human rights and legislation in WA.

The Commissioner for Children and Young People is on the lookout for change champions - young Western Australians aged 18 and under who are looking to make their voice heard, share their insights and make recommendations on important issues.
Participants will be asked a question every school term, starting with Term 1 2021, asking a question like, what needs to change in your town for young people?, and will go into the draw to win a $25 gift voucher each term.
