2020 Meeting of the Inter-American Competitiveness Network (RIAC) Re-Defining the Competitiveness Agenda in the Americas: Imperatives for a Post-COVID Recovery
Ministers and High Authorities of Competitiveness are invited to put forward ideas, solutions, and proposals to identify imperatives for a post-COVID recovery. The Meeting aims to set the foundations for a new regional competitiveness agenda in the Americas to be launched at the upcoming XI Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) scheduled for February 2021. This new regional competitiveness agenda will include actionable recommendations, focus on economic recovery, and be anchored in good practices and regional cooperation. As part of the Meeting, RIAC’s work and results will be featured as well as the RIAC Covid-19 Ideas Accelerator. The meeting is convened by the Government of Ecuador as RIAC’s Chair Pro Tempore and the OAS as RIAC’s Technical Secretariat.

ONU - Vacunas contra el COVID-19: los desafíos tras los anuncios de Moderna y Pfizer
Aún no hay datos finales sobre cuánto dura la protección de las vacunas, ni si tienen algún efecto adverso a lo largo del tiempo, recordaron los expertos de la agencia de salud de la ONU. Además, alertaron que la distribución será muy complicada y limitada en los países al menos hasta mediados de 2021, con naciones que ya han hecho contratos unilaterales, reduciendo el número de dosis para el resto del mundo.

PAHO - Responds to Tropical Storm Eta and Prepares for Hurricane Lota, Supports Countries in Emergency Response in Central America
Urgently needed supplies and medicines have been sent to affected countries from PAHO’s Humanitarian Warehouse in Panama, PAHO's Emergency Operations Center detailed. Two COVID-19 kits with more than 30,000 supplies of personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, N95 respirators, gowns, goggles)  enough to care for 10 intensive care patients during 30 days of hospital stay, were sent to Honduras, along with 5,000 liter water tanks, mosquito nets, 300 "dignity" kits with hygiene, protection and personal safety supplies, as well as and water and sanitation supplies.
