Cataloguer, Photographs Department - Phillips Auctioneers, New York, NY
  • Researches and catalogues property including authenticity, bibliography, provenance, and exhibition history for auction, valuation, and private sale. Proofs and complete all research for cataloguing using auction standards. Assists with catalogue production and layout, including photography coordination and copyright clearance where needed. Researches and provide all relevant information using auction standards for  marketing material, valuations and proposals. Coordinates and acts as a key contact with relevant departments for the production of marketing material. Researches and writes catalogue notes and other marketing material where appropriate. Prepares condition reports and review with Head of Department. Assists in the viewing room during sale week. Works with Photographs Property Manager to arrange meetings with clients to view artwork and manage any conservation needs. Develops knowledge of photographs and the photographs market through literary research and attendance of local exhibitions. Spearheads the organisation, cataloguing, and augmentation of the departmental library. 
Photography Archivist (full time, temporary) - Architect of the Capitol, Washington, D.C.
  • Safeguards the AOC photographic-based archival collection. Performs a variety of archival activities under the Head Photography Branch Archivist, including arranging records with complex subject matter, enforcing metadata standards for descriptive information, performing quality assurance for existing database, and conducting image research. Periodically assesses the condition of analog photographic records and execute preservation activities as needed. Assists in managing the AOC photography records center and archives and other records storage areas. Maintains storage standards for a wide range of born-digital photographic media. Conducts research and provides information in response to reference service requests in support of AOC projects and programs. Assists with priorities for completion of research projects and supports selection of photographs for exhibition or publication and preparing captions. 
Shared Collections Program Director (remote work available) - California Digital Library, Oakland, CA
  • Envisions and pursues a dynamic strategic direction for building and managing UC-wide collections that support the research, teaching, and learning missions of the University. Engages in strategic planning and implementation initiatives related to licensing, open access, shared print, and acquisitions and shared cataloging. Oversees and directs a highly collaborative team charged with conducting systemwide collection development and management activities. Integrates an understanding of the role and use of diversity and inclusion goals as a standard for collection development policies and practices. Promotes innovation, best practices, systemwide, collaboration and communication as a lead participant in multiple systemwide stakeholder groups. Serves as a member of the California Digital Library's Executive Director's leadership cabinet. Actively participates in setting CDL-wide policies and priorities and engages in a continuous process of establishing CDL's strategic direction. 
Digital Asset Management Librarian (2-hear term, remote) - The Newberry Library, Chicago, IL
  •  Serves as lead on the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) migration project. Develops automated workflows for media ingest and data repurposing to DAMS, as well as for mapping and migration of content to digital collections platforms. Identifies problems and implements improvements for workflow efficiencies and data quality. Trains Newberry staff on DAMS use and procedures. Tracks and reports performance metrics; creates and maintains documentation; and participates in developing DAM plans, policies, services, and platforms. Serves as metadata lead for two-year IMLS Cares grant to digitize and make accessible more than 250,000 modern manuscript pages documenting Chicago’s history of social activism. Consults with colleagues and Indigenous community members and provide expertise on large-scale digital metadata revision processes. This work is in conjunction with a Mellon Foundation grant-funded project to improve the way Newberry materials related to Indigenous peoples are organized, described, accessed, interpreted, presented, and used. Serves as system administrator for DAMS once deployed, including managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
Assistant Professor, Digital Initiatives Librarian - Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH
  • Maintains and enhances our current digital scholarship projects including an installation of Open Journal Systems software, indexes to Wittenberg publications and theses, and collections in Omeka and ContentDM. Collaborates with faculty, staff and students, to develop new media and technology applications to support teaching, learning, and scholarship at Wittenberg University. Provides general and chat reference and act as a library liaison to several academic departments. Liaison duties include, but are not limited to, information literacy instruction and collection development.
Digital Collections Librarian - Sul Ross State University, Alpine, TX
  • Identifies and prioritizes projects to ensure that digital archival collections and University records are well described, archived and preserved. Plans, coordinates, and oversees workflow for digitizing and cataloging Archives collections. Supports discovery of and access to the Library and Archives digital content through metadata creation, analysis, enrichment, and maintenance. Manages and uploads documents to ContentDM, and other Library systems while ensuring full and accurate metadata for those objects. Publishes digital collections or exhibits to the web via ContentDM. Maintains policies and procedures to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently in all areas of responsibility. Follows all local and national cataloging and metadata standards and keeps current with all updates and revisions to those standards. Identifies vendors for outsourced digitization, prepare shipments for pickup/delivery, and establish criteria for digitization, metadata, and project parameters. Participates in public service, including reference coverage, information literacy instruction, and outreach. 
Digital Archivist (part-time, contract, mostly remote) - Southern Foodways Alliance, Oxford, MS
  • Provides strategic planning for the development and infrastructure for the Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA) Karen Barker Documentary Archive, access systems and tools, digitization, and related technical issues. Crafts policies and procedures that facilitate the acquisition, transfer, arrangement, description, preservation, and access to born-digital and analog materials in accordance with emerging standards and best practices, consulting with and advising creators of born-digital content when necessary. Develops and documents workflows in order to support these activities; recommends and utilizes digital processing tools and advises on preservation strategies and storage needs for digital materials. Coordinates workflows for the management and archiving of institutionally created media (i.e., web pages, images, moving images, and audio). Stays abreast of best practices, issues, and tools related to the stewardship of digital materials.
Chief Digital Officer - Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI
  • Provides excellent leadership, vision, and strategy for the Museum's Knowledge Management Infrastructure initiative and a comprehensive portfolio of technical and digital media efforts. Ensures and clearly communicates the business case and cost-benefit analysis for all digital and technical projects. Mentors and guides staff to apply best practices in project management. Practices strong collaboration withs stakeholders across museum departments to define and deliver effective digital technology projects. Serves as the executive intermediary throughout the implementation of technology and digital projects. Leads information services/audio visual department and cross-departmental Community of Practicum team. 
Archivist & Clara R. Toppan Library Curator - University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY
  • Faculty archivist that serves as the archives primary contact for rare book/information literacy instruction for the Reference Services unit. Develops course content, activities, and assessment, and works collaboratively with other archivists to teach research and information literacy skills to students to support UW’s general education curriculum. Works with teaching faculty to promote primary source literacy, and develop services and strategies to actively engage students; provides tours. Also supports day-to day operations of the reference service unit by responding to research and information requests, and working at least one half-day shift per week on the reading room desk. Supports rare book collection organization, and outreach. Engages in collection development, donor relations, public programs, research and/or creative activity, University and professional service. Supervises a full-time contract cataloger, part-time worker(s), and leads collection development efforts for rare books. 
Gallery Assistant - LA Gallery, Los Angeles, CA
  • Greets clients and assists them in the gallery, assists the directors and registrar with a variety of projects, event organization, inventory database entry, and managing and updating the gallery contact list. Performs administrative duties including managing supplies, gallery operations, and managing administrators' calendars and travel arrangements. Schedules third parties to perform work in the Gallery. Maintains the digital image archive, coordinates press and art fair materials, and responds to press inquiries. Archives artist/gallery press, updates social media pages and website, and manages email blasts for gallery.
