As I write we are still in a month of lockdown and we don't know what the immediate future holds and whether we will be able to meet in person during Advent. It can be constantly tiring to have to keep adjusting and changing, planning for both a face to face or digital meet with our children and their families.I have been reflecting on the verse 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.' Hebrews 13:8
We can feel frustrated by the circumstances and long for the certainty of our 'normal' Christmas planning and traditions. But maybe, just maybe, God is going to reveal himself to our families in new ways this year. I have collated some simple ideas that families can try at home Making Christmas Specialwith the advent prayer card.
You can either send it out to those families you are in contact with or if you prefer, cherry pick ideas and create your own ideas sheet. There is also an alternative comfort and joy advent calendar you might like to do as a family to reflect the conflicting emotions we are holding as a nation.
This mailing includes loads of resources for both Advent and Christmas. New resources are added in green. This year the Church of England have taken the theme of 'Comfort and Joy' to reflect the need for consolation along with celebrating the joy of the birth of Jesus. Ideas for your local community
Please read and follow the recommended guidance from the Church of England when working with children and families.
