May You Find Hope

It's with a deep sense of thanksgiving and gratitude that we cross the finish line for fall semester this week. Having returned home over Thanksgiving weekend, students will complete finals remotely.

This Saturday we will welcome almost 200 new alumni into the association during a virtual winter commencement. While this semester required all of our creative efforts to adapt, I'm so grateful for the many ways our community rallied to the challenges thrown our way. Now we're ready for rest!

As we transition from Thanksgiving to Advent, we have an opportunity to collectively take a moment and reflect as a community. I invite you to set aside some time to watch this recent chapel by President Robin Baker, who draws from history and Scripture to remind us that abiding hope comes from God.

Two Resources for the Season

While our traditional on-campus Christmas events are on hold, there are two resources I'd encourage you to take advantage of this season.

The Office of Spiritual Life put together this thoughtful Advent Reader for our entire community. Additionally, the theatre department is offering a captivating audio drama of A Christmas Carol for your listening enjoyment (more details are below).

Finally, my prayer is that you find rest, peace and enduring hope in God's presence during this Advent season.

"May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." - Romans 15:13

A Christmas Carol

Friday, Dec. 18, through
Sunday, Dec. 27

Lend us your ears for a delightful journey back to Charles Dickens' London in this beautifully underscored arrangement of A Christmas Carol.

Follow Scrooge's transformation as he learns from the ghoulish Marley, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and the simple and honest lives of the Cratchit family, including Tiny Tim.

Please join us for a special Christmas collaboration featuring both the music and theatre programs in the university's performing arts department! This is an audio drama you won't want to miss!

Once you purchase a ticket, you will be sent an access code. That code can be used for a 48-hour "listening window" anytime between Dec. 18 and Dec. 27. Tickets are available for purchase here.
Download the NIKE pass valid Dec. 1 - 7
