BUILDING A LEGACY FOR 2021

Dear friends and family of Camarillo United Methodist Church,

It is with great joy and privilege that I share in the ministries with you here at Camarillo United Methodist Church.  Over the past several months that I have come to know you and serve as your pastor, I have witnessed your passion in caring for the community and commitment to build a strong legacy for the future.  Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, this church continues to be active in serving the needs of the congregation and the community.  As we now seek God's direction to plan for the future, I hope you dream with me to support the ministries of the church.

There are three areas of ministry that I hope Camarillo UMC is ready to grow in the coming year, especially when the pandemic subsides.  The first is to increase our church's exposure to the community by providing excellent worship and fellowship where we celebrate God's love and share our lives with others.  Already there is an increase in individuals and families connecting with the church via our online worship experiences.  Imagine how much more we can expand our worship experience for next year!

Another area of growth is in the area of discipleship.  We seek to invest in the ministries for our children and youth, as well as providing more learning opportunities for adults.  We want to expand our Christian education, offering music camps and retreat opportunities for our children and youth, and more Bible studies and classes that engage our spiritual hunger.  In doing so, we strive to build the proper foundation to be an intergenerational church.

Last but not least, Camarillo UMC has been a beacon of hope in the community for the past 67 years.  It has a strong history of serving our community and will continue to do so.  But one ministry that truly stands out is our Medical Supply Project that offers tangible help for those in need.  Our hope is to deepen this outreach ministry to provide spiritual care and support to those in tender moments in their lives.

There is so much ministry that needs to be done at Camarillo United Methodist Church.  I hope you will join me in supporting these ministries.  A 2021 Pledge Card will be distributed when you come to our Drive-In Worship this Sunday, November 22, 2020.  We will celebrate our commitment to seeing God's work being done and Camarillo UMC setting a legacy for the future.  For those unable to attend worship this Sunday, you may fill out an online pledge form by clicking this link: https://cam-umc.org/giving-so-it-happens/pledge-commitment-for-2021/

Your giving allows the church to move forward and build God's Kingdom here in Camarillo.

Prayerfully,

Pastor Elbert Kim
