Hilltop Remains Strong

Dear Friends:
I am happy to tell you that we are carrying on with some degree of normalcy. We have most of our students at school in person, with a few doing their schoolwork at home. There is not really an online component, because many of the homes do not have internet. At the High School level, students who do not have internet at home can come to a parking lot to get internet from a school bus. This is not very effective, because it is only as good as the infrastructure that is already there. The internet strength here is only 1-2% of the capacity of major cities.
I have had the privilege of tutoring one of our High School students (here on campus) in Math. If anyone out there knows how to divide polynomials, please let me know.
Thankfully, the news media is paying more attention to the Navajo Nation and the challenges that we face here. You can find one such (emotional) report here. There are many other examples out there as well.
This year our students have a great, creative Art teacher!
Every week they get to create something new that glorifies God!
Where are we now?
Despite these challenges, we are going ahead, participating in God's work. Fall conferences went well, and the students are learning bible and academics. Another thing that has changed is that we will be unable to do a Christmas concert for the parents. This was a major outreach event where the students shared the Gospel with their families. Instead, we have spent weeks working on a Christmas video-card for the families. I can share this with you when it's finished; pray this will get the Message out and share God's Word with the families!
