Dear Friends,

It was nothing short of a *goosebump* moment when, during our Lunchtime Eucharist on Wednesday, the sound of the responses, prayers and the psalm came from the nave as our congregation joined in the service. There has been nary a sound from that space for the past months. Lots of sounds of voices speaking and singing going the other way but nothing reflected back. Due to inclement weather we moved what was to have been an outdoor service inside. As the Dean commented to some of the congregation after the service, the Cathedral building, which usually feels like the walls have soaked up the prayers offered there over the past more than 100 years is at present feeling like the walls are crying out for more prayers to be said. The word liturgy comes from a Greek word meaning 'work for the people'. It was an absolute delight to hear the work being done by the people of our community, and the building certainly felt the better for it! If you haven't booked to join us for a service, please do. Details of how to do so are included below, and the Wednesday lunchtime service is the current offering for congregation members to attend. You can also book to attend Sunday services, the first being Advent 1 (29 November). We are very much looking forward to seeing you soon!

Grace and peace,
Heather.
