Excitement grows at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club!

First of all, thank you to all of the respondents, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide thoughtful and constructive feedback.

Your responses will help us as we refresh and evolve our strategic plans, and more importantly it helps us identify where we can do better day over day.

Overall the survey results endorse all the hard work our GM, our staff, our coaches, our amazing volunteers and our board members do to provide a safe and happy experience at our Otway facility, so thank you.

That said, through the feedback on the survey, the comments provided, and general feedback we receive from our membership, you have also identified the areas we need to improve on, so again thank you.

We plan to provide ongoing updates on what we are doing in response to your feedback, and continue to invite the dialogue that helps us deliver on our aspiration of building a world class facility, and experience, for all.

Looking forward to seeing you on the trails!

Lance MacDonald, President

Rickbeil Family Donates $200,000 to  Grow the Snowmaking System

When the Rickbeil family heard the great work that has been occurring at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club, they did not hesitate to donate $200,000 towards the next phase of the snowmaking system. In prior years, the Rickbeil family donated over $400,000 to install the lighting on the 10km of competition courses (i.e Blue/FT, Red/Classic course).

The planned snow making infrastructure will bring snowmaking to the entire 10 kilometers in the Rickbeil Family Nordic Light Park (as well as the 3.5km Para Nordic sit ski course).  This vision will provide 14km of trails covered by snowmaking, which will give the largest and most modern snow making system at a Nordic facility in Canada.

Shoot for Gold Silent Auction

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club has good reason to be proud of its athletes. One of our athletes, Sarah Beaudry, is on the Biathlon Senior National Team. The athletes selected to go to Biathlon Canada's World Cup Team have yet to be announced, but we are confident Sarah will be among them.

The team leaves for Europe the 19th of November. The first two world cup events will be in Finland, followed by two events in Austria and then on to Germany (complete schedule at https://biathlonresults.com/).

The National Team athletes are putting on a fundraiser to help defray some of the costs. They are offering all sorts of great items on an online silent auction including some National Team ski items!
