Hello School Board Members and Superintendents,

This is friendly reminder about two CCCSBA meetings on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
  1. Q&A with Public Health, 1:00pm Zoom Link / Passcode: 039955
  2. CCCBA General Meeting & Program on the Science of Reading and Its Implications for Closing the Literacy Gap, 5:30 to 7:00 pm  Register in advance. Immediately after registering, you'll be emailed a unique-to-you URL to join the Zoom meeting, from cccsba.info@gmail.com.
Thank you to those who have already registered!

Prior to the program, the Board of Representatives will have a very brief meeting.  See the agenda with links to the minutes and financial reports. If you are the representative from your district, please sign on to Zoom by 5:30pm so that we can quickly conduct the business. If you cannot attend, please send a substitute from your district.

If you're not your district’s representative, please sign on at 5:35.  We have a number of trustees joining us for this program from school districts outside Contra Costa County.

Our guest presenter is Dr. Maria Murray, Founder and CEO/President of The Reading League, which is a a national not-for-profit organization based in Syracuse, New York whose mission is to advance the awareness, understanding and use of evidence-based reading instruction. The Reading League's founders have spent decades on the frontlines of reading instruction and witnessed the vast amount of time, money, and energy that are spent on programs and procedures that fail to produce strong readers. But we know that when educators and parents are empowered with the knowledge, preparation, and support they need — young people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.  For a teaser, here is The Reading League's mission video
