As part of our Virtual Gala celebration next week, Project GROWS & WMRA will host a panel discussion Wednesday, November 18th at 3:00pm about the growing need for food literacy, with a focus on the Farm to School programs in Staunton and Waynesboro.

This just in! We are excited to share that Jay Holly, former Program Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, & Augusta County, has been recognized as a 2020 Community Food Champion by the National Farm to School Network in recognition of the work he has done to connect children to local food experiences.

In addition to being an inspiring and tireless afterschool educator for local youth, Jay is also an excellent chef and has consistently supported and championed efforts to provide students with summer field trips to our farm, "Young Chefs" cooking classes, veggie tastings, take-home snack packs for students using local produce, and a Youth-Run Farm Stand in the Boys and Girls Club parking lot. He was also a co-conspirator on our Super Summer Chefs video series that encouraged students about healthy eating during the pandemic!
