Prayer Breakfast to Stream Anne Lotz’s Message
You are invited to watch the 19th Annual Charleston Leadership (CLF) Prayer Breakfast online beginning at 6:45 a.m. Nov. 19. CLF is pleased to announce that the world-renowned Anne Graham Lotz will give her message of hope and prayer for our community and our nation from her studio in North Carolina. All other speakers and musical guest Kanika Moore will appear from Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant.

Update on Hurricane Relief
Thanks to the generosity of St. John’s parishioners and a matching Matthew 25 Grant from the Anglican Church in North America, Servant’s Heart Disaster Relief was able to send $5,000 to Trinity Anglican Church in Lafayette, La.
The Rev. Peter Johnston and volunteer teams from Trinity are helping people in Bell City, a town east of Lake Charles that was hit hard by both hurricanes Laura and Delta. Funds are being used to purchase roofing materials, blankets, tarps, and food.

Altar Flowers
The altar flowers of Nov. 8 were given to the glory of God and in memory of our dad, Fred Nordmeyer, by his girls, Sue, Sally and Sheri.
St. John’s Altar Flower Ministry designs new flower creations each week for Sunday services. Flowers are individually selected and prepared on Friday. The cost to dedicate flowers is $70 for both vases or $40 for one. Contact Sally Dixon (balact@bellsouth.net; 843-709-4894).

The Order of the Daughters of the Holy Cross is a spiritual sisterhood of women of all ages dedicated to a life of study, prayer, service and evangelism.
We are lay and ordained women who have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. We are women who, in the midst of our daily lives, find community and spiritual support in local chapters of three or more women. Chapters form in churches (and church-related institutions), as led by their clergy.

Feeding the Multitude Volunteer Update
Contact Meemee or Edith Dixon to volunteer. Volunteers are requested for these dates and duties:
- Nov. 19 at Walton Hall to sort through the bag donations
- Nov. 21, to deliver plated meals and bags to the rural housing community across from St. John's
- Nov. 21, prayer warriors for online prayer, prayer chain, and live stream on Facebook.
Please send your prayers on Nov 21 as Facebook comments or use the private phone line. You can also write your prayer on a paper chain at Walton Hall during Sunday Services up to the event.
Dates to remember:
- Nov.14 by 9 a.m.—Deliver bag donations (double paper bag with handles) to Neighborhood Captains.
- Nov.18-19—Neighborhood Captains deliver bags to Walton Hall.
- Nov 21—Grab & Go bag pickup at Walton Hall and family delivery.

Uganda Scholarships
Each year St.John’s Church provides scholarships for children of Ugandan clergy to attend grades 3-12. Clergy earn about $12 to $14 a month, and the cost of sending a child to school is $150 a year. So far we have raised three-fourths of the amount needed for 50 scholarships. If you are led to send a check or give online, please mark your gift for Uganda Scholarship.

For Persecuted Churches
We pray for persecuted churches around the world. For the month of November we pray for the nation of Uzbekistan.
Heavenly Father, Christians and Christian churches in Uzbekistan are suffering due to religious nationalism, authoritarian government rule, Islamic persecution, and violence. We lift them up in your Holy Name, asking for your mercy to surround them. We pray for the Christian churches in Uzbekistan to persevere through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Prayers for Healing
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between
preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those who have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money
in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot
physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.
Amen.

Increase, O God, the spirit of neighborliness among us,
that in peril we may uphold one another,

Grant us brave and enduring hearts
