DREW SHULA HONORED AS LEED FELLOW
During the Leadership Awards ceremony on November 12, Verdical Group's Founder & CEO Drew Shula named a 2020 LEED Fellow by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). Shula is among 25 professionals who represent exceptional practitioners and leaders within the green building community and have demonstrated mastery of the technical application of LEED, the world’s most widely used green building rating system. Shula is also one of just six individuals ever to receive both the LEED Fellow and Living Future Hero Award.

We loved seeing VG projects at this year's Greenbuild Conference and Expo! The November 9 "It’s Electric! The Next Wave of Building Decarbonization" session included imagery of The Harlow, a 115,000-square-foot office owned by Hudson Pacific Properties (HPP) and located in Hollywood, CA. HPP's Ryan Tinus was a speaker for the session.
Verdical Group is completing LEED v4 BD+C Core & Shell Project Management, Energy Modeling, Daylight Modeling, Fitwel, and Savings By Design Incentive Management services on the project.

The November 12 "The Missing Pieces: The Next Frontier of Zero Carbon" session featured the Google Charleston East project, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). We loved hearing Andreas Gyr from Google share their long-term approach to carbon and how low-carbon materials and circularity influence their decision making.
Verdical Group is providing Living Building Challenge (LBC) Declare labels by coordinating with furniture dealer KBM Hogue to ensure furniture materials information was captured to meet LBC requirements.

GREEN BUILDING MATTERS PODCAST
Shula will be recapping the Net Zero Conference and Greenbuild in an upcoming town hall with the Green Building Matters podcast. He will be joined by LEED Fellow Charlie Cichetti and Pankow's Michael Strong.
In addition to sharing updates from NZ20 and Greenbuild, they will be discussing the unbelievable year 2020 has been and forecasting 2021. The wide-ranging conversation will cover a variety of pressing issues impacting the green building industry, including the US Presidential election, the Paris Agreement, COVID building re-entry and the new LEED COVID response credits, diversity and inclusion, B Corporations, the buzzword of the year "carbon," the climate crisis, and California's net-zero legislation leading the way for the country.
