Celebration of the Week
This week we celebrated our Viking Champions of the month for October
We held the Viking Champions assembly on Wednesday, November 11. Check out the Schoology post shared with our community! Be on the lookout for the next nominations that will be due on Wednesday, December 2!
We are thrilled to share with the Viking community the students who were our Viking Champions for last month! These students were nominated by their teachers for exemplifying what being a Viking leader in their class looks like. From those who were nominated, one lucky student earned a $50 visa gift card for their work. You can view the presentation deck and virtual assembly recording below. Keep working hard and maybe you can be a Viking Champion next month!

¡Estamos encantados de compartir con la comunidad vikinga los estudiantes que fueron nuestros campeones vikingos el mes pasado! Estos estudiantes fueron nominados por sus maestros por ejemplificar cómo es ser un líder vikingo en su clase. De aquellos que fueron nominados, un estudiante afortunado ganó una tarjeta de regalo visa de $50 por su trabajo. While we are not able to connect in person, we are still a Viking Strong community. A lot of our families are struggling to meet their needs and the extended virtual learning is taking everyone by surprise.

CSC Meeting

COVID Update
We continue to operate with about 60 students engaging in their learning from North and there has been no compromise to the Learning Center due to COVID-19. While we have had cases that have come up with staff and students associated with North, none have come because of any activity at North. Thank you for all following health guidelines to keep everyone safe!
Social Emotional Coaching for North Staff
We are thrilled to announce that North will be one of the first schools in the country to offer FREE social emotional coaching for our staff members. We talk so much about the importance of Social Emotional support for students, but we often overlook the support that staff need. We have a grant that pays for this through December of 2020. If you are interested in contributing funds in order to have the program continue at North, you can donate through Venmo at NHSViking or on the North Website at https://north.dpsk12.org/about/support-north-high/.
Gear UP Info Meeting, Zoom meeting Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6:00 P.M. & Thursday, Nov. 19 @ 6:00 P.M.
Freshman families, join the GEAR UP pre collegiate advisors un a zoom meeting to learn more about the programs they offer and how students can apply to take advantage of all the resources.
North Future Design Planning

Actualización COVID
Continuamos operando con aproximadamente 60 estudiantes participando en su aprendizaje de North y no ha habido ningún compromiso para el Centro de Aprendizaje debido a COVID-19. Si bien hemos tenido casos que han surgido con el personal y los estudiantes asociados con North, ninguno se ha debido a ninguna actividad en North. ¡Gracias por todas las siguientes pautas de salud para mantener a todos a salvo!
Entrenamiento Socioemocional Para El Personal De North
Estamos encantados de anunciar que North es una de las primeras escuelas del país en ofrecer entrenamiento socioemocional GRATIS para los miembros de nuestro personal. Hablamos mucho sobre la importancia de los apoyos socioemocionales para los estudiantes, pero a menudo pasamos por alto el apoyo que el personal necesita.
