CHAT WITH THE ARCHAEOLOGIST!

Join us tomorrow, Friday, November 13th, at 2:00PM (MST).
Project Archaeologist, Dr. Chester Liwosz will be discussing:

Human Migration: It's Never Simple

The story of the First Thanksgiving recounts a mythical start to the Colonial Era America that would become the United States, loosely based on select real events. The mass movement of people to settle new lands (both occupied and unoccupied) is a commonly recurring theme in human history. These events are often remembered in oral and written histories which  - like the story of the First Thanksgiving - take artistic liberties in recounting a positive and easily remembered story. Archaeological and historical evidence, however, shows that the movement of human groups is never so simple. In reality migrations happen in fits and starts, some are successful yet some fail, and they can originate from multiple places at once. This month we will examine a few significant and storied migrations in what is now the United States, picking apart the differences between myths and materiality.

This event will stream live on our YouTube channel.  Dr. Liwosz will answer questions posted in the comments section.
