Hi everyone on this beautiful afternoon,
I have so enjoyed seeing and hearing from so many during the last weeks, as we journey through this season together. Strange days as they seem, yet not strange to God, who knows perfectly what we are going through.
My verse for this week is “For the Lord knows…”, I am so glad He does !!
We want to encourage you to be a part of each weeks Sunday services, either in person or online. We continue to hear great testimonies and stories about how God is working in both. Certainly we would love to see you in person, just register on the church web page and let us know you are coming. It sure does encourage the staff and volunteers when we know you are coming to worship the Lord and encourage each other. If you cannot join in person, we are also working hard to keep the online stream of our service available for you.
We are also very excited to have started our children’s ministry, during the 11am service. It is so good to see the children again.
Keep praying for all of us, these days are challenging and blessing both.

COVID-19 UPDATES
As of November 5, 2020, the state of Maine "requires people to wear face coverings in public regardless of the ability to maintain physical distancing." Masks are required to attend and in-person service, even while sitting and when physically distant from others. We have masks available at the door if you do not have one.
The state has also decreased gathering limits from 100 to 50 people. That means the two in-person services at 9am and 11am will have a maximum capacity of 50 people in each service.

Thank you to everyone who has participating in writing appreciation cards over the past two weeks. Over the next few days, every staff member in the Houlton and Hodgdon school districts, along with Great Houlton Christian Academy, will be receiving a thank you card with a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card. The school staff have worked exceptionally hard during this time and as a church we wanted to show our appreciation for all they've done. And this project could not have been completed without the help of many volunteers who took the time to write the notes. Thank you!

We cannot wait for in-person Kids Church to resume this Sunday at 11am! To allow for more families to attend the second service, we ask those without children to attend the 9am service if they can. Children can be registered for Kids Church here. To stay up to date with what is happening in our Kids Ministry, before sure to follow us on facebook at Houlton Wesleyan Kids Church.
You can also join us each Sunday morning at 9:00 on Facebook and YouTube for Kids Church Online. We present a 15 minute video of worship and Bible learning specifically for pre-schoool through elementary age children. Or, come back to the pages to view the video whenever it's convenient for your family. We will also post a parent guide with activities for each lesson, for those of you who'd like to dig a little bit deeper into the Word. Operation Christmas Child is one of our favorite opportunities to give each year! Filling a shoe box with toys for a boy or girl not only blesses children with a special gift but it also provides the opportunity for them to hear the Gospel through Samaritan's Purse volunteers. You can pick up a shoe box at the church throughout the week or on Sunday if you're attending an in-person service. Please bring the box back by Sunday, November 22nd along with $9 per box to cover shipping.

Students in grades 6 through 12 can join us at youth Wednesday nights from 6-7:30pm for games, worship and a message. Registration is required and the form is posted weekly Mondays at noon here on the EDGE Youth Facebook Page. Reminder to bring a mask, or get one when you check-in.

We are partnering with Adopt-A-Block again this year to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need. AAB will be providing the turkeys and vegetables, but we need your help in purchasing other items for the meals. Walmart already have bags available for purchase that you can purchase and bring to Houlton Wesleyan throughout the week or on Sunday before November 16th.
