Emails and/or Zoom verbal comments can include:
  • Support staff’s recommendation to award the Rancho Lilac contract to San Diego Habitat Conservancy.
  • SDHC is the most qualified manager for the sensitive ecological, historical, and cultural resources at Rancho Lilac. SANDAG chose SDHC in 2017 to be the long-term manager of Rancho Lilac through a fair and open procurement process. SDHC has been working with SANDAG and Caltrans staff in good faith for the last four years.
  • Rancho Lilac was purchased as biological mitigation for the impacts of highway construction.  It must be managed to serve its intended purpose. SDHC will properly balance public access, including trails, with protecting underlying species and habitat objectives. It is time to stop further delay and approve the transfer of Lilac Ranch to SDHC.
  • One of the reasons SDHC was selected was its willingness to partner with the community to help steward the resources at Rancho Lilac. Withdrawal from the process and giving the project to the County will damage SANDAG’s reputation and violate the purpose of the TRANSNET Environmental Mitigation Program (EMP) funding. Choosing any other option other than SDHC will only result in further delay of the management of the resources onsite, including the planning for future trails.
Feel free to add or modify your comments about topics you are passionate. Live comments at the meeting will be limited to one minute, so keep them brief and concise.

SDHC thanks you for your support!
