"In a challenging year, BACC's work has been
more important and relevant than ever."
Dear <<First Name>>,
If you had told me at this time last year what 2020 would hold, I wouldn’t have believed you. The world’s events have forced everyone to make changes, including the Balboa Art Conservation Center. One thing that hasn’t changed at BACC is how important it is that we connect with our donors. Your support has made it possible for our team to quickly adapt and keep working.
Like many, BACC faced stay at home orders for most of March. We emerged from that “inward” time with creative responses that face “outward” into our communities, ensuring that important stories can be told through the objects we preserve.
Our conservators listened to the voices around them and launched Preserve Community Art! part of our commitment to protect important cultural heritage created through community-led movements.
As 2020 ends, we welcome cultural preservation champion and seasoned arts administrator Leticia Gomez Franco as our new executive director. This hire reaffirms the importance of the conservation work BACC does every day while moving to expand this work into communities that haven’t previously been included in the conservation experience.
In a challenging year, BACC’s work has been more important and relevant than ever. I hope you’ll join me in making a gift to ensure this work to preserve our stories, our expression, and our objects continues.
With 45 years of experience, the Balboa Art Conservation Center (BACC) is the region's premier nonprofit art conservation facility, offering museum-quality conservation treatments, investigative technical imaging and analysis, and extensive preservation services for institutions and individuals.
