Dear Parent/Carer,
 
As you are aware, certain year groups have needed to be home educated this week.

As leaders of the English department, we felt that it was important to explain the expectations of Remote Education and what we expect our students to complete for their English home learning whilst being educated remotely.

Every student will be expected to complete 2 English lessons per week; these will be uploaded to Google Classroom on the day the lesson is due to be taught.

We expect students to upload their completed work to their English Google Classroom within the week.

Each piece of work should include:

• Completed Retrieval Phase (quiz)
• Completed Deliberate Practice Phase (main learning/ extended writing)
• Completed Consolidation Phase (summary task)

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those who have completed exemplary Remote Learning and uploaded it to their Google Classroom for their teacher to mark.

Unfortunately, a large number of students have not engaged with Remote Learning and we are increasingly concerned about the progress that is being lost.  We kindly ask all parents/ carers to discuss the importance of Remote Learning with their child/ren to ensure that all work is completed to the high standard that is expected in lessons.

If you have any concerns at all, please contact your child’s English teacher in the first instance.
