This is what Atlatszo reported last week

Head of Fidesz’s Foundation for a Civic Hungary was elected bishop of the Reformed Church

Zoltán Balog was elected bishop of the Dunamellék Reformed Diocese on Thursday, his term of office is six years. The former Prime Minister’s Chief Adviser, Member of Parliament, and EMMI Minister has another current position, he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for a Civic Hungary, the party foundation of governing party Fidesz. At the beginning of October, we asked the Fidesz party foundation in a public interest request which Reformed Church organizations had been supported in recent years.

In the middle of a strong second wave of the pandemic, the game must go on

Even though the government has been trying to stress for some time that they have prepared for the second wave of the pandemic, daily figures released in recent days appear to contradict this. While the number of infected people and new deaths are constantly growing, the number of tests and data regarding those who have recovered is now stagnating or even decreasing. Meanwhile, the government handles football matches with particular care – after all, it’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s favorite sport.

Leading pro-govt daily newspaper publishes “investigation” inspired by Azeri lobby efforts

History behind the documents underlying Magyar Nemzet’s series of articles on ‘Soros’s conductor’ lead back to Azerbaijan’s attempt to influence European politics. The corruption case, that ended with an investigative committee report and a political scandal, was partly unearthed and publicized by Gerald Knaus, who in turn was smeared by the Europan allies of the illiberal Azeri regime back then. One of them, French ex-spy Claude Moniquet was invited last year to the terrorism conference of Migration Research Institute, founded by Századvég and MCC. This is not the first case of Fidesz making friends with the Azeri lobby in Europe.

Government spokesman to Arte: Atlatszo is not a media product, MFA’s yachting is private matter

Arte’s documentary shows the difficulties caused by the coronavirus epidemic in European Union countries and how EU leadership is trying to deal with the crisis. The film also features Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who, according to the creators, uses the crisis situation to his advantage and to further restrict the press. Government spokesman Zoltán Kovács also speaks in the film, saying that Atlatszo is not a media product, but a political organization, and the luxury yachting of MFA Péter Szijjártó exposed by Atlatszo is private matter.
