Thanksgiving (Psalm 100)

During November we are conducting three special services at Oaktree. The first of the three is Thanksgiving Sunday, focussing on Psalm 100.

One commentator on the psalms says this about Psalm 100, “Were the statistics known, psalm 100 would probably prove to be the song most often chanted from within the history that runs from the Israelite temple on mount Zion to the synagogues and churches spread across the earth.”

There is truly nothing else that will begin to shift our perspective and align our heart and head with God than thankfulness. That is true both for the individual believer and for the community of God’s people
.

Listen to the sermon

Psalm 100

1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come into His presence with singing.

3 Know that the Lord is God. It is He that made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

5 For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.
