Fresh chicken today and tomorrow
Whew! Our last fresh chicken round of the season is here. They are quite large- mainly 5 to 6+pounds so we lowered the price on this group and are calling the biggies "roasters".
- 5 lbs and under are $5.75/lb
- Roasters over 5 lbs are $5.45/lb
- Bulk roasters when you get 10+ chickens are $5.25/lb
Chickens will be fresh today and tomorrow and frozen thereafter.
We're taking walk-up bulk chicken orders at the farm today from 2:30 pm - 6 pm and Saturday morning from 11 am - 12:30 pm.
We are also finally restocked on chicken leg quarters, boneless skinless breast, whole wings, feet and necks. We have a new product too- oversized packs of chicken backs if you are planning on making delicious chicken stock for you and all your friends (these are really big packs). All this organic-fed pasture-raised-by-us poultry goodness can be found in our online farm market in the chicken category.

We now accept SNAP EBT cards for eligible purchases in our online farm market!
SNAP beneficiaries please use the coupon code snap on the checkout page. SNAP funds can be used to purchase our farm's certified naturally grown produce, meats, and eggs through our online farm market and for our farm share. Here is the gist of how it works with ours system:
- You must have a SNAP EBT card issued by your state. Pick out your SNAP-eligible items in our online farm market and add to your cart. Note your subtotal.
- At the checkout page enter the coupon code snap. The snap coupon code should bring your online order total to $0* (*note- we will run the actual order subtotal in person with your EBT card when you come to pick up your order).
- Since EBT transactions must be done in person, in the “Order Notes” section on the checkout page please provide some times when you would like to pick up your order and run your card.
- Proceed with checkout. If you've checked out successfully you should receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter.
- Once we receive and pack your order we will contact you to coordinate pick up and to simultaneously run the transaction with your EBT card.
This is brand new for us so if you have any questions about using SNAP EBT with our online farm market ordering please email or call Sally at 540-808-0672.
We are working on providing SNAP Fresh Match double-value matching through LEAP for our vegetables and will announce when those are available.

Less-plastic order fill option now available!
You asked, we answered. We recently purchased 100 mini-bins to pack orders into for those who request it. This means that your produce and eggs will be packed into a mini-bin and you transfer the contents into your own bags when you pick up. Bulky items like squash may be placed besides the bin on the shelves and all frozen items will still be packed in paper bags in the display freezer.
Besides reducing the amount of disposable t-shirt bags we purchase, we also think that the produce will keep fresher in the bins since there is more room for it to breathe. If you would like to try out this packaging method on your next order then select the "BYOB" shipping option at checkout. And we're always looking for feedback! If you have more ideas on how to make this system smoother, please let us know!

Our online farm market continues through the seasons!
Just because it's getting cooler doesn't mean that nutritious food quits! We are the local leader in winter production and this year will be even better. We're building two new greenhouses and have a large amount of our meats stocked in the freezer. More Hoof Hearted beef will be available at the end of the month.
Here's the full list of what's in now. If something is sold out then check back later in the week as we are always harvesting (* denotes new products).
