Stuffed, like your inbox

Congratulations!  You've graduated from the kids' table just in time to pick the worst year ever for adulting. It's fine. We're fine.

As we prepare to fill our plate with Mom's green bean casserole, pass the cranberry and get sauced this Zoomsgiving, we want to hear from you: how different will your holiday look this year? Hit reply and let us know.

Forward to a friend who's still stuck at the kids table.

Who run the world? Girls.

Who run this motha Friendly? The Center has welcomed three new women-owned businesses, just in time to hook yourself your fam up with holiday goods.

PHOTO VIA CURVI MILIEUX

At Curvi Milieux, you'll find a focus on fashion to help accentuate your assets. Let owner Nacarra help you find your bold, confident self through exciting patterns and prints. We're especially fond of the "I tried" shirt. Because unlike the recipients of your accidental "reply all," Santa knows you mean well.

PHOTO VIA SCENT WORKSHOP

Beef and cheese scent driving would-be followers away? Do something about that at Friendly Center's Scent Workshop, set to open November 21. Shop candles and perfumes as well as locally made wares from other women-owned businesses, or schedule a workshop to create your own custom scent that doesn't contain the essence of a charcuterie board.

PHOTO VIA EVERBE FLORAL

Hoping for a little lump of black velvet in your stocking? If you're looking to drown out cries of "Ho ho ho," by shouting, "I do, I do, I do!," let Everbe outfit all of your wedding floral needs. If not, just buy yourself the damn flowers, sis. Doors open Friday, November 27.

Just our Monday grocery haul. Nothing to see here.

Gnome is wherever I'm with you

Mad Splatter invites you to come in and paint your own ceramic gnome to take home for the holidays, or gift him to one of your best gnomies. Find more details and check out other available classes here.

Sip sip, hooray

Family owned Oden Brewing Company is celebrating its one year anniversary all weekend long with food trucks, live music, and even a Sunday morning yoga flow. Nothing like a little hair of the downward dog to get you back in the game after a weekend of frothy brews.

Going down in blades of glory

Sharpen those skates and dry clean that sequined leotard, because Piedmont Winterfest is opening up for the season on November 20th. Check skate times and details here.

PHOTO VIA GREEN VALLEY GRILL

All about that baste

Impress your guests with a freshly cooked, mouth-watering Thankgiving feast that you can pass off as your own. Get hooked up with all of the trimmings and none of the stress by handing off the responsibility of cooking to Green Valley Grill which is offering Thanksgiving to go. Put your feet up, pour a glass of wine, and prepare to act a frantic chef the moment they arrive.

Four-legged feast

Take a moment to give thanks this year for the one who never judges you and is always happy to see you walk in the door. Obviously, we mean the dog. Celebrate the canine who slobbers all over you at the family-friendly Pupsgiving celebration hosted by Doggo's Dog Park & pub on Sunday, November 22, open to members only.

PHOTO VIA MADE FOR MORE LOCAL

Get the Goods

Don't worry if your family can't come to North Carolina for the holidays, because now North Carolina can come to them in a custom gift box from Made for More Local.  Each box contains items from 5 small NC businesses from around the state.  We love the "Ma'am" and "Sir."

Pass the roasted squats

Sweat for a cause on Sunday, November 22 with O2 Fitness at the Historic Magnolia House. Your participation will support the preservation of one of North Carolina's only four remaining Green Book sites. This class, which mixes cardio, strength, and yoga, will help you burn a fraction of the calories you plan to consume on Thanksgiving.

Thank you for being a friend

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, followed closely by donating to those in need. Operation Yuletide provides care packages to our community's senior citizens, and is accepting donations of items such toiletries and more.  When you're out shopping for Great-Gramma Betty, don't forget about her contemporaries, too.

Congrats to Jeanne DuVall, who just won two tickets to paradise Winter Wonderlights — because we asked for your favorite Christmas songs, and felt the need to pick one about a Hippopotamus just to show we don't play favorites. Watch your inbox for your prize from the Greensboro Science Center.

Get your fat pants ready. Got a winning Turkey Day recipe that'll have us pre-stretching our stretchy pants?  Send it our way!
