Rodney Bay Marina, St. Lucia: charter route imported from MacENC in minutes.

Modern Update for Classic Chartplotter Software

Swap routes & tracks between MacENC and your favorite apps and devices

In the days before smartphones, MacENC was a well-known chartplotter on Apple computers. In 2006 it became a licensee of the optimal tacks that are now in the SailTimer app on Android and iOS. Although Mac users were tiny in comparison to Windows, MacENC was hugely popular because of the wide range of vector and raster charts, and support for lots of NMEA marine electronics. It was gone for the past two years, but is coming back for modern Macs with a new owner, Texas-based NavStation. The new 64-bit version for MacOS version 10.15 and the new macOS 11 (Big Sur) is called MacENCx64
SailTimer tab in MacENC shows the optimal angle and target speed to a waypoint.

Plan your route on shore or down below at the chart table. MacENCx64 can export routes so you can import them into an MFD chartplotter. Use an SD card to import waypoints from MacENCx64 into a GPS chartplotter, as explained in NavStation's entertaining Origin Story and in this YouTube demo. You can also paste a list of waypoints from MacENC into the SailTimer tacking app on Android or iOS. Route export and import are supported using popular sharing services such as iCloud and DropBox.

The new chart Download Manager: Contains popular free chart catalogs (NOAA, Brazil, New Zealand, etc). Select and download within app. Automatically unzips charts and adds to Chart Manager. Easy Sync and Update check to get the latest charts.

SailTimer: As shown in the screenshot above, MacENCx64 displays the optimal tacking route and target speed based on wind speed, wind direction and performance polars. Instantly know your sailing time to a destination and which course to sail. If you have the SailTimer Wind Instrument, you can bring that wireless data into your Mac on wifi or NMEA wiring from the SailTimer Air Link.

MacENCx64 retails for $189 and is launching Monday November 30th with a 25% Cyber Monday discount. Get your copy for only $141! Existing users can upgrade for free - see NavStation.net.
