The Alameda County Health Care Services Agency released a statement that given recent increases in the COVID-19 case rate in Alameda County and the State, it has temporarily paused plans for additional openings and activities, and anticipates moving back into a more restrictive tier, based on the State's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

In recent weeks, Alameda County has seen increases in both COVID-19 case rates and hospitalizations. The County's daily new cases per 100,000 people has risen from a low of 3.4 to 4.9. It is expected that the County will move back into the Red Tier soon, and possibly all the way back into the Purple tier, if the current trends continue. 

As the holidays near, the County advises all residents to exercise extreme caution and to continue wearing face coverings whenever you leave home and stay 6 feet apart. Employees should wear masks and remind patrons that masks are required to enter their business. When dining, masks should stay on at the table except when eating or drinking. It is also advised to stay home if you are ill and wash hands frequently.

In partnership with the City of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Downtown Association presents Shop Small, Support Local – a campaign to encourage the Pleasanton community to shop, dine and visit local this holiday season. The campaign emphasizes the importance of supporting small businesses, especially now as many business sectors are open with limited capacity restrictions, and as the holiday season nears. 

Downtown Pleasanton businesses are encouraged to participate and promote the Shop Small - Support Local campaign! A Social Media kit to promote your business during the campaign and custom Pleasanton totes to distribute to the community are available for participating businesses. Downtown Pleasanton businesses are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible - sign up HERE.

The City of Pleasanton has approved over $1 million to assist more than 100 Pleasanton businesses as part of the Business Support Fund loan program. Qualifying businesses are encouraged to apply at www.cityofpleasantonca.gov/eddsupportfund.

The City has created a NO FEE temporary administrative process to allow downtown businesses the opportunity to expand outdoor dining and display areas into the right-of-way while maintaining appropriate social distancing requirements consistent with activities allowed by the Alameda County Health Order.
