San Diego Temple November Newsletter 
 

 

The month of November is traditionally recognized and celebrated in America as a time to gather with family and loved ones, especially at Thanksgiving. We at the San Diego Temple gathered together in fellowship observing socially distancing guidelines - in the joy of serving our community with our traditional Food Drive. On November 7th and 14th, the San Diego Bankers Hill Club parking lot was decorated and set up for a Drive-Thru express to receive non-perishable food and monetary offerings for Special Delivery. Our spiritual community is delighted to once again share in the spirit of giving to meet the nutritional needs of many in San Diego. And share we did, with record-breaking donations!  Well done San Diego Temple devotees and neighbors.

Special Delivery San Diego does more than provide food. “We nourish each client through our three programs with love. Our home delivered meals are custom tailored to each person’s dietary needs. Our pantry has become a nutrition pantry.” Providing over 800 families a month with optimal nutritional health and well-being, the devotees of the San Diego Temple are happy to contribute to the mission of Special Delivery.

 

Paramahansa Yogananda inspired us through his writing, “If you all work together in harmony and kindness, this work will sweep the world.” Through his unconditional love, protection and guidance for us, we open our hearts to offer what we can to bring harmony and kindness during our traditional Thanks-giving-time.

 

May we all continue to work together in harmony and kindness during this unparalleled time, and keep our hearts open to know we are still rich in gifts from God.
