CHAPEL OFFERING

Christmas is a special time for giving. It is also a joy to receive!

Our Chapel offerings for the 4 weeks will go towards our Angel Tree Christmas program. Our Angel Tree supports families that are in need in our immediate Lake Forest community.
Abiding Savior is accepting gift cards donations for the families that we sponsor. Target, Walmart and Grocery Stores are preferred.

Abiding Savior sponsors families and buys Christmas presents for them, so that they have something at Christmas.

Donate items to Abiding Savior's Food Pantry

The Food Pantry at Abiding Savior serves local families by providing supplemental groceries to people who cannot afford enough food to sustain themselves and their families. Join us in helping in our community. The Food Pantry is run solely on donations. We are in need of the following items:

Canned Tuna, Canned Chicken, Spam, Peanut Butter, Jelly,
Boxed Macaroni & Cheese, Spaghetti Sauce, Pasta, Rice, Dried Beans,
Ramen, Canned Fruit, Canned Vegetables, Pancake Mix (only add water).

There is a bin in the Narthex where you can putyour donation as you come to church.
You may also drop off your donation to the church office during the week.

A great gift idea is the Happy Moments card. It is one gift card that is good at 7 locations (Cheesecake Factory, Macy's, Regal Cinemas, Sephora, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bed Bath & Beyond, Red Lobster).

For those of you that order physical cards online, just a reminder that I will submit those orders on Fridays and we will receive them the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Mrs. Horn in the school office will send an email when the scrip is available for pick up. Here is a flyer with more information from Shop with Scrip.

Through Shop with Scrip, you may purchase your scrip online by purchasing escrip with a credit card (processing fees apply) or through your checking account. If you are interested in this option please send an email to: khorn@abidingsavior.com, and she will send you the enrollment code to get you started. Your family will continue to receive tuition credits through your purchases!

If you are still interested in the scrip physical cards, you may place your order with payment to the school office in the morning and it will be available to pick up in the afternoon (as long as inventory is available). Once we receive your order and fill it, we will contact you that it will be available for pick up.

For those of you unfamiliar with scrip, it is a win/win fundraising opportunity for the school and it's families. The school purchases gift cards (scrip) at a discounted rate, for example $100 Stater Bros gift card is purchased for $95. Families purchase the gifts cards(scrip) at full retail value and the profit, $5 in this example, is split between the school and the family that purchased the scrip. The family portion will be applied to next year's tuition or to overnight field trips (grades 4-8) as applicable.

Dear Abiding Savior Family,

Thank you all for your gracious prayers and encouragement during my recent radiation treatment. One of the things I looked forward to is the ringing of the bell after my last treatment. I had a total of 33 treatments over 6.5 weeks.

I also thank you for your generous celebration of my 60th birthday. Your cards and gifts are greatly appreciated. It is a blessing to be a apart of such a wonderful family of God at Abiding Savior. I pray that God richly blesses each one of you.
