PTSA Updates

The mission of the North Meck High School PTSA is to support the staff and students at North Meck High School.  PTSA support includes providing college scholarships for qualifying seniors, sponsoring events for teachers, staff, and students, and stepping in, whenever possible, to fill a gap.

Fundraising enables the PTSA to provide this much-needed support. This year our Invest in Excellence Program is more vital to supporting NM than ever before. The COVID-19 pandemic has awakened the reality that we are better and stronger together. Our teachers and students are working harder than ever, and the NM PTSA is committed to supporting them.

The PTSA needs your help. Please consider making a tax-free donation to our Invest in Excellence Program, no amount is too small.  Remember to check with your employer for matching gift donations.

The PTSA, teachers, and students thank you in advance for your donation and support.

As you consider your yearly contribution, keep in mind that North Mecklenburg PTSA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Help the PTSA raise money to support our school with a tax-deductible donation.

Thank you for your continued support and remember we are better and stronger together!

High School Battle of the Books (HBOB)

North Mecklenburg High School is participating in High School Battle of the Books or HBOB again this year. The purpose of the Battle of the Books program is to encourage reading by all students. The HBOB team will compete against other schools within our district. The winner of the HBOB district competition will move on to compete in a state regional competition. Students on the HBOB team compete in a game-like format similar to Jeopardy where all questions are stated in the form of “In which book did …,” and all answers are in the form of a book’s title and author.

Students in HBOB are exposed to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints by prominent authors in the area of young adult literature. To see a list of this year’s HBOB titles click here. We welcome readers of all abilities!! Please encourage your high school student to participate in HBOB this year. For information on meeting times and book trailers click here.

Reading is for everyone! Please email Mrs. Ebert with any questions at amyf.ebert@cms.k12.nc.us or call 704-350-5853.
