Winter Virtual Programming


Through the Winter, our virtual programming will still continue with Take & Make activity bags. We have increased the goodies inside of the Take & Make bags to include more educational material. This weekly newsletter is filled with materials to add to your educational toolbox, as well as incorporating fun! 

Family Saturday STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) activity bags. These separate STEAM bags are geared toward school-aged learners. 
 
Come pick up our Kids Take & Make bags and the STEAM bags on Sundays from 3:00-5:00, on a first come first serve basis, while supplies last. 

Books are available from the library through contactless pickup, and eBooks are available through our digital library resources.

Be Thoughtful Thursday!


You can still have fun with friends and family at a distance AND with your library card! Martha's Vineyard library cardholders now have unlimited free access to Creativebug, our new online crafting resource!

Sign-up with your library card to take hundreds of easy to follow, beautifully produced, creative video classes. The classes are pre-recorded so you can enjoy them any time and at your own pace. Some of the class categories are: Art & Design, Sewing, Knitting, Food & Home, and Kids. There are easy and quick projects as well as more in depth courses.

Family STEAM Saturdays!


       

Join us for our annual Gingerbread Cottage decorating program! This year, we will be decorating from the comfort of our own homes and using Zoom to see everyone else's beautiful cottages! Registration is required. We have pre-made kits available on a first come first serve basis, while supplies last. 

At-Home with Island Grown Schools



Island Grown Schools has wonderful resources to add to your educational toolbox. Their website is filled with curriculum to get you outside to explore and into the kitchen. They have so many fun and educational ways to bring garden-based learning, healthy, locally grown food, and hands-on farm experiences into the home!


Family Fun Activity of the Week with Mass Audubon


Massachusetts Audubon has a great website for your young explorer to get involved with the outdoors. From scavenger hunts to nature bingo, they provide a lot of fun and educational resources about your local wildlife!

Free Food Items!


Come to the Vineyard Haven Library entryway vestibule for some free food items generously provided by The Food Baskets Martha's Vineyard. This is a contactless service provided for everyone in the community on Sundays from 12:00-4:00 while supplies last. Items vary each week.

Winter is coming! Time to fill your at-home library with library books! Did you know you can reserve up to 50 materials with your library card?! Fill out this form to have Emily curate a specific bag for you! 

Homeschooling/Parenting Resources


With your library card, you can access many resources that can assist with your remote learning and/or homeschooling journey. From research to educational television shows, to requesting physical materials, your library card is an endless resource at your fingertips in the comfort of your own home!
