GLOBAL POLICY 
The vice-president of Huawei asked the U.K. to revisit their ban on the company, now that President Trump has been defeated. (Guardian)

Microsoft said last week that hackers backed by Russia and North Korea are targeting COVID-19 vaccine makers. (TechCrunch)

EU ministers discussed new laws to be adopted that would oblige internet firms to remove extremist content. (BBC)

After suspending Ant Group's IPO, China drafts new antitrust law to target big tech firms. (Financial Times)


US POLICY
President-elect Biden hired several former Facebook executives into his transition team. (Politico)

Obama said in a recent interview that disinformation architecture on the internet is the "single biggest threat to our democracy." (Vox)

The Trump administration once again delayed its ban on TikTok. (Verge)

In an exemption to previous trade restrictions, the U.S. is allowing Qualcomm to sell 4G mobile chips to Huawei. (Reuters)

Biden proposes $300 billion in tech funding over the next four years for AI and quantum R&D. (WSJ)

Facebook increases its use of machine learning to sort and prioritize flagged posts. (The Verge)
