MS Data Alliance – Stakeholder focus group meeting - 18 November 2020
Addressing Global Data Sharing Challenges - What did we learn from COVID-19?

MS Data Alliance (MSDA) is a global multi-stakeholder collaboration working to accelerate research insights for innovative care and treatments in people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

During the virtual MSDA Stakeholder Focus Group meeting, reflections will be made on the major lessons learned during the “COVID-19 in Multiple Sclerosis: a Global data sharing initiative (GDSI)”. Liesbet Peeters (Hasselt University) and Yves Moreau (KU Leuven) have been strongly involved in this initiative.

Visit the website to access the detailed meeting programme and the registration info.
Research Software Engineer's Toolkit & Developers Day
The Research Software Engineer’s Toolkit is intended to be a community developed resource for research software engineers, researchers, academics and anyone involved in building research software. The toolkit will provide a set of documentation, tools and guidance in support of developing reliable, sustainable and robust code. Contributions to the resource are welcomed via the GitHub repository. How this initiative started can be read in this blogpost.

The first conference of the Belgian Research Software Engineer community - the Research Software Developers Day - takes place on 3 December 2020. The event is composed of two parallel tracks with presentations and workshops on software quality, (cloud) infrastructure, reproducibility, devops,... Tickets are free of charge, registration is necessary.
Research Data Management in Life sciences
Last week, more than 40 participants joined the workshop on Research Data Management in Life Sciences organized by Ghent University and ELIXIR Belgium. The course provided guidance to researchers to develop their knowledge and practical skills in handling and managing the research data they collect and use.

The slides of the presentations are available at the UGent Data Stewards Open Science Framework (OSF) page.
