MEAM is recruiting an Involvement and Inclusion manager. We are looking for a passionate, experienced leader with lived experience of services to help guide us and the areas we support in our journey towards coproduced services and systems that listen to and understand all voices.

Protect Programme Funding announced
Communities Secretary, Robert Jenrick MP, has launched the Protect Programme, allocating a further £15m to areas with high rates of rough sleeping to provide accommodation during the pandemic.

Commission for Equality in Mental Health
The commission has published its final report into equality in mental health. It finds that poor mental health mirrors wider economic and social inequalities and that concerted action is necessary to progress the issue effectively.

The DWP has published an independent report into the prototyping of an explicit consent model to manage benefit claims.

HM Inspectorate of Probation has published a thematic review into the culture and practice of probation recall.

Joint Committee on Human Rights
The Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights has released a new report on black people, racism and human rights. There is specific focus on health inequalities and over-representation of black people in the criminal justice system.

Homelessness Winter Transformation Fund
Applications are remain open for the new Homelessness Winter Transformation Fund. Homelessness, faith, community and voluntary sector organisations can apply for funding to provide single room and Covid-19 secure accommodation for people experiencing homelessness this winter. Deadline for applications: December 2nd.

Homeless Link updates
Homeless Link has published a briefing setting out why we still need a second Everyone In scheme, backed by funding, in order to protect the health and safety of people experiencing homelessness. There is also a new research briefing and guidance on delivering Severe Weather Emergency Protocol accommodation this year.

Clinks has published a new blog on the Sentencing White Paper, and considers what impact it might have on the black and Muslim communities.
Clinks is also running a survey with Birth Companions into the needs of pregnant women and new mothers affected by the criminal justice system.

News from Mind
Mind is warning of a second pandemic as it published research demonstrating that more people are in mental health crisis than ever previously recorded. It is calling on government needs to urgently invest in community services to stop mental health beds becoming full during the winter.

Collective Voice
Collective Voice has published work examining health inequalities related to frailty. It suggests an approach not solely based on age, but also on need will be important to help those with premature frailty.
