Weekly News for

Please continue to do daily health screenings of your child to assist in maintaining in-person instruction. Health Screening.  Our community continues to have a high daily positive rate with COVID testing. It is imperative for you to daily monitor your child's health and keep them home should they exhibit symptoms.  Please use this additional checklist below to assist should your child have COVID-related symptoms. We have been blessed to maintain in-person learning. I pray that we can continue for the foreseeable future. Checklist

Food Drive

We are gathering food items to assist families in our school, congregation, and community as we approach the upcoming holiday seasons. Students can bring in items to their classrooms beginning tomorrow 11-17. Items will be collected this week and early next week for distribution prior to Thanksgiving. The class that brings the most items will receive a pizza party on Tuesday, November 24.

Live Nativity

The Live Nativity Event will be held on December 5 with a few adjustments and mitigations as a result of COVID 19. The one major change will be that no grade school children will be participating in the Nativity this year. The Martin Luther Leadership felt that this was a necessary step to limit the possible exposure of our school children to the virus which would have an impact on in-person learning. The event will also be scaled down so that fewer individuals are in close contact with one another. I would encourage you to take time on December 5 from 4 pm-7 pm to drive through the event and witness the story of Jesus' birth.

Christmas Service Update

This year we will be unable to hold in-person Christmas Services. The staff is working with Pastor Voss to create short class videos which will highlight the Christmas message. These videos will be incorporated into the weekend Advent services leading up to Christmas. The first of these three services will take place on Sunday, December 6. This video's message will be from Grades 1-4. The weekend of December 12-13 the message will be from Grades- 5-8. On the final weekend, December 19-20, the message will be from our PreK and Kindergarten.

Mission Offerings

This year our first-semester mission offerings will go to support the WELS Kingdom Workers for their mission work in Japan. Please support this ministry with your prayers and weekly chapel offerings.

Custodial Help

We are in need of an additional person to assist with general cleaning and disinfecting of the school. The position would be for approximately 10 hours per week. Please contact Mr. Hennig for additional information. stevehennig@martinlutheroshkosh.com
