Associate Professor of Nutrition and Endocrinologist
Hospices Civils de Lyon, Lyon 1 University
"High risk population for NAFLD: should we screen for advanced fibrosis?"
Dr Caussy’s main field of research interests are insulin resistance and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). She has a specific interest in non-invasive biomarkers and pathophysiology of NAFLD especially in high-risk populations such as type 2 diabetes and obese patients.
Dr. Maarten Tushuizen
Hepatologist
Leiden University Medical Center
"Care paths in NAFLD: why, who, where, when and how"
Dr. Maarten Tushuizen's research focusses on NAFLD/NASH, principally development of clinical care paths including diagnostics, surveillance and treatment. Prof. Saskia van Mil
Professor of Molecular and Translational Metabolism
University of Utrecht
"Should we selectively target the FXRα2 isoform to improve NASH therapy?"
The research group of Prof. Saskia van Mil investigates the role of bile acid metabolism and the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) in liver energy metabolism. Using the new knowledge obtained, they aim to increase selectivity and efficacy of targeting FXR for NASH.
