Dear BGC Parents and Guardians,
It has been great to get to know so many Park staff members over the first quarter. I hope to have opportunities to get to know and support those teachers I haven’t met yet. This has been a challenging year due to COVID, but I want to express my admiration and appreciation for all that teachers at Park do to support our students, both in person and remote.
October has been a great month at Boys and Girls Club! We have welcomed many new students and we plan to increase opportunities for remote learners to join us through Google Classroom, MyFuture.net and Zoom.
We have been making greater efforts to support students in their classes and to improve grades through grade checks and extra academic support in Power Hour. We're working on a mentorship program, matching students with a staff member to help support their social and emotional needs. We are also working on installing a little free pantry near Park soon.
I wanted to reach out to you and see how Boys & Girls Club can better support Park teachers and students. Is there anything we can do to support or help you? Please reach out and let me know. What would be helpful to support you or to support your teaching?
