“. . . that you may tell the next generation that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will be our guide forever.” Psalm 48:13-14

Dear saints of God,

We are celebrating our annual stewardship focus in November with the theme “City on the Hill.” On Nov. 8, 15, and 22 we’ll take a closer look at what our congregation’s name “Zion” means and build on the significance of that name for ministry in the coming year. We’ll also celebrate God’s faithfulness to us in 2020.

During our annual stewardship focus, we always begin by proclaiming all that God has done for us. And we joyfully respond to God’s gift of grace to us in Jesus Christ and to God’s work in our midst at Zion Lutheran. Our stewardship focus is a joyful and generous response to God’s gracious gift to us.

During this stewardship focus, you will be invited to make a pledge of giving to Zion for 2021. We also have a brand new ministry guide where you’ll be able to read about all of the volunteer opportunities to give of your time and talent to ministry at Zion…and, of course, a chance to complete a plan for involvement as well. Your investment in the ministries of Zion Lutheran Church celebrates God’s abundant faithfulness in sustaining ministries for the future.

November 22 will be Commitment Sunday, and we’ll welcome Pastor Jonathan Steiner as our guest preacher. Pastor Jonathan is the Associate to the SD Bishop for Stewardship and Outreach. He will join us by video since we’ll be worshipping from home on Nov. 22 and not in the sanctuary.

We’ve had to be innovative and creative in all aspects of ministry over the last several months, and we will do that when it comes to our stewardship focus, too. One of the ways we’ll do this is to make our stewardship materials like the giving pledge and ministry guide and survey available on our website. Look for the Stewardship page to include these materials by November 15. You’ll be able to visit it at this link: bit.ly/Stewardship2021 (the page will be live on November 15).

Join us as we celebrate God’s faithfulness and take a closer look at what it means to be the “City on the Hill” as we steward our gifts and share our lives for the sake of the world.

Together with you in Christ,

Pastor Erin
